Recruiting Early Permanence carers: strategies and preparation, presented by Lindy Wootton, Early Permanence Lead, CCS Bristol and Hannah Moss, Early Permanence Lead, Coram, 8 March 11am-3pm

It is an ongoing challenge to ensure that we reach potential Early Permanence carers and motivate them. It is important to ensure they fully understand their role as foster carers during proceedings.  We need to identify child-centred carers who can manage contact with birth parents and family members during proceedings. This is a big ask but we know that there are indeed families out there who can willingly undertake this task.

The conference on 8 March will provide opportunities to explore some approaches to this work.

As usual, the morning session of the conference will be devoted to presentations and after lunch we will organise small group discussions and feedback in a plenary before ending at 3pm.
